Resveratrol Attenuates Heat-Stress-Impaired Immune and Inflammatory Responses of Broilers by Modulating Toll-Like Receptor-4 Signaling Pathway

This study investigated the effect of resveratrol on immune and inflammatory responses mRNA levels splenic toll-like receptor (TLR)-4 signaling pathway-related genes broilers under heat stress (HS). One hundred sixty-two birds were allocated to three groups, each with 6 replicates, for 21 continuous days. The treatments as follows: control group (22 ± 1 °C), HS (33 °C 10 h d-1 22 remaining time) + (400 mg kg-1) group. At end trial, one bird per replicate close average body weight (BW) was selected, exsanguinated, slaughtered. Compared group, treatment decreased (p<0.05) final BW, daily gain (ADG), feed intake (ADFI), relative bursa Fabricius spleen, serum immunoglobulin (Ig) Y, IgA interleukin (IL)-10 contents, IL-10 level, while it increased feed/gain, tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α), TLR-4, nuclear factor-kappa-B (NF-κB), IL-1β, IL-6. HS+resveratrol exhibited ADG, IgY, lower TNF-α, IL-1β IL-6 contents in serum, TLR4, NF-κB levels. In conclusion, prevented a HS-impairment function by blocking abnormal activation TLR4 pathway.
